~* Pregnant Goth Outfits *~

As you may have guessed, I've been struggling with the newborn baby bat so I've had zero free time to blog... So I thought I would show you some outfit photos from when I was pregnant as well as a post pregnancy picture (while I was still in hospital). I never got big in this pregnancy, and often people thought I was not pregnant at all. This was unfortunately due to my placenta and other medical issues. But I can assure you, I definitely was pregnant; and I now have a 3 and a half month old baby to prove it! :o)

One Month Pregnant -  Trip to Eltham Mini-Railway - I wore my black straw-like hat which I decorated with a handmade headband that my relative made; teamed with a lace cardigan, a Nightmare Before Christmas t-shirt, and a handmade fabric brooch!

4 Months Pregnant - I was off to a birthday party so I had to bring my new coffin purse with me! Also wearing a lace babydoll dress, leggings with jewels on the sides, and one of my new brooches that has a chain attached to it.

6 Months Pregnant - Family gathering for Mothers' Day! We went to a lovely chinese restaurant for lunch. I wore a skull in my favourite soft velvety hat, my rose tapestry skirt brooch, velvet short-sleeve cardigan, spiderweb top, chiffon-like skirt and my butterfly necklace again.

Post Pregnancy Outfit - pictured here in the waiting room of the hospital not long after my daughter's birth and my hospital stay. Dressed very casually here in my "We're all a little Mad" Alice in Wonderland t-shirt...

~* Organising my Wardrobes and House *~

Wow, what a cleansing feeling to finally finish organising my wardrobes and clothes! It has taken me about 8 months to get to this stage since we moved house! Yay, it's done now. The hard part is trying to keep it organised and not throwing my clothes in it sporadically with laziness like I sometimes do.

I have two wardrobes because I have so many clothes (I really need more than two wardrobes, since I don't like to throw things away). I have even labelled areas of the wardrobes for easy access and use. I categorised them in the following way:

This big wardrobe houses all my formal black clothes -- tops (both short sleeve and long sleeve, on hangers together with cardigans), dresses and skirts. On the bottom section I also have my pajamas and lingerie; shoe collection; tights, socks and stockings; as well as underwear. In the top shelves are some of my accessories such as hats, dressing gowns, dress-ups, gloves, masks, scarves, corsetry, handbags and purses...

Close-ups (I really need to find or make pretty containers instead of using the cardboard boxes, but at least it is organised for the time being):

This smaller wardrobe is mainly to house all my non-black (or coloured) clothes as well as all my large coats (with more black tops under them in the hangers); my casual clothes including long sleeve and short sleeve tops and singlet tops; sweaters; cardigan collection for all seasons and other scarves...

Close-ups:

I also organised my accessories (that I keep in my bathroom cupboards) and labelled all my containers so it will be very easy to find a certain item at any time.

Brooches and badges; Wigs and hair extensions etc...

Rings; nail polish etc; fake tattoos and bindis; sunglasses; glitter stuff; make up creams and powders; belts; bracelets; hair clips & accessories; lipsticks; eyeshadows etc...

Ribbons and strips of fabric (can be used for your hair or other decorating - for instance, of hats etc)...
More ribbons...
Make up brushes etc...
Regular / daily use make up for easy access...
I started to organise the study too, but it won't be finished until I get a new filing cabinet or two. I still need to organise the Rumpus Room (my daughter's play room) and the Shed. So still a great deal to get through before babybat #2 arrives! We want to get the house in order before the gothling arrives.

How do you all organise your wardrobes, clothes and accessories? Do you label things and arrange by colour etc? I'm very interested to hear how you all organise your stuff.

~* Pregnant Goth - Recent Outfit of the Day *~

Wow, the time has just gone by so quickly this time around. I can't believe I'm already half-way through the pregnancy. I am 21 weeks in 2 days. I suppose because you are more busy with a toddler and working etc that you just don't notice the time going by so fast. With the first pregnancy, it seemed like it took forever. This time it feels like the time is slipping through my fingers.

Anyway, here are a couple of pregnant goth photos of me from when we went to the beach with my daughter recently - they are from when I was around 13 weeks I think (can't quite remember).

As you can see I'm dressed in very casual goth attire since these days I just don't have the energy to get really dressed up. Also, we were at the beach, so you don't want to be wearing heaps of stuff.
The tent is my brother-in-law's and it was great for me as it kept me protected from the mighty orb.

Of course, the hat and sunglasses are on when I venture out of the tent. I also had a parasol with me somewhere. Yes, I am not a huge fan of the beach. But one must tolerate it if one has a toddler etc. I must admit it was fun to see my daughter frolick in the water, to play with her in the sand and see how happy she was!

Here I am also wearing my comfy skull cardigan (another recent thrift find)!

~* Festive Season Silliness *~

It's been a crazy and busy holiday season so far for us! We are currently renovating the new house we moved into - it is being painted as I type - the exterior and interior - plus lots of other decorating... But more about that in a future post.

The day after my last day at work we took my in-laws and my parents out to dinner to thank them for looking after our daughter so I could go back to work part time! We went to a lovely chinese restaurant and we shouted them all their meals! This is the casual outfit I wore:

As you can see I'm wearing my Tru-Blood t-shirt which I adore!

I also got to go to playgroup with my daughter for the first time (normally I'm at work and my Mum takes her there). That was a fun day. Then at night we went out for dinner with all the ladies at playgroup - it was a lovely evening out.

Here are some outfit photos from The Husband's and his Dad's birthday celebrations (their birthdays are both a couple of days apart so we celebrate them together). We had a BBQ at my mother-in-law's place!

Here you can see I'm wearing my new coffin backpack - I adore it so much! I'm also wearing my new corset-style top with my new sheer blouse (both birthday presents from my sewing friend). It's hot weather here nowadays (Summer)  so I wore my lightweight, sheer long skirt to be more comfortable! I'm also wearing my Emily the Strange skirt brooch that I made myself, and my Summer hat with a handmade headband decorating it.

The next day we went to the beach with my daughter for the very first time. She went in the water, collected shells and made sandcastles and had the best time ever! It was lovely! Then we went afterwards for icecream and drinks. I'm really enjoying this family time!

It was our anniversary of six years of marriage recently - wow - I cannot believe how quickly time flies! We have actually known each other for over 9 years but we've been married for 6. We went to a lovely mexican restaurant for dinner in Chapel Street and then to a cafe for coffee and cake and it was the same cafe we went to on our first date, so it was an enchanting evening and very romantic!

On Christmas Day we went to my Mum's BBQ with some family friends which was fun and the food was delicious! I also watched Nightmare Before Christmas with my daughter - we watch it every year on Christmas Day - our little tradition.

Happy Holidays to you all! More outfit photos to come (I just need to find the time to sort and crop them)!

~* Recent Casual Outfit of The Day *~

Sorry for the lateness of this post. Life has been very hectic at the moment but more about that in a future post...

Here is a recent casual outfit of the day from a relaxed Sunday afternoon - going out for lunch at a Hotel Bistro with a group of people...

Most of this outfit is vintage, from a thrift store (except for the Nightmare Before Christmas t-shirt which The Husband bought me one year for our anniversary and the hair clip). I'm wearing a long sleeve skull top under the t-shirt, together with black beaded cardigan and synthetic shiny plastic skirt. The standard jewellery and accessories as I was in a rush!!
Also wearing my high heeled boots with shoelaces that match the shoelaces in my hair (that I often use as ribbons).

Close up of my broken-heart and bones hair clip - from Best and Less department store (one of my favourite shops at the moment).

Close up of the Emily the Strange brooch on my skirt that I sewed myself...

~* My Everyday Make Up Look *~

This is how I wear my make up casually whenever I am not at work - either on the weekends, on my day off and so forth. I even wear this make up when I go to buy groceries, run errands and whenever I leave the house.

You can see that my eye make up is a bit more extravagant than my Corporate look. On the lid is charcoal eyeshadow with black liquid eyeliner over the top, with black eyeliner and black mascara. Sometimes I also draw a little line with the liquid eyeliner or I might draw designs or lovehearts around the eye too (depending on my mood and what time I have to spend on my make up).

For the lips it’s usually just a red or purple lipstick colour – I rarely wear black lipstick but sometimes I wear brown lipstick.

On my face I use cleanser, then moisturiser with SPF 15, then sunscreen SPF 30 then I use a brush and apply talcum powder over the top (yes, that is MY SECRET - it is just an ordinary talcum powder – it does the same job as a translucent powder that you would buy in a cosmetics counter but so much cheaper – plus, the same ingredient is in the translucent powder anyway).

I only use concealer or foundation on my face if I am going to a special event! I try not to use it too much because it makes me want to scratch my face off and also I find it makes me get pimples everywhere. So that is why I rarely use it. I find the powder does enough to cover the redness of my skin.

Here I'm also wearing my tattoo choker (I wear it almost everyday) and a sparkly black bow in my hair.

~* A Casual Goth Outfit - Sunday Shopping *~

This is a standard weekend outfit - I usually wear something like this to go shopping or go about my daily errands.

Here I am wearing my casual floppy velvet black hat which I decorated generically with a black fabric rose etc.

I’m also wearing my gorgeous Alchemy Gothic Bat Pendant necklace (described as "Creature of the night in full flight; on split chain"), a fake tattoo choker and skull brooch.

This is a semi-punk-goth outfit I suppose, since I am wearing the tartan mini-skirt and the "Punk Lives" singlet over my lace rimmed long sleeve top.
What do you like to wear to go shopping and run errands?

~* An Evening Casual Goth Outfit *~

It's finally Friday evening, and the end of another working week... And here I am wearing an outfit I would generally wear from work to casual evenings out (for example, going from work to dinner at my mother-in-law’s place etc).

I simply changed my accessories and changed into a more gothy, velvety cardigan. I changed the ribbons in my hair to skull shoelaces (who said I bought these to go on my shoes? I definitely intended to wear them in my hair thankyouverymuch).

And for some reason I didn’t want to wear lipstick, which is very rare for me actually. But it does happen when there are odd days I would rather not wear lipstick. Actually I am not really wearing much make up here except for some eyeliner and translucent powder.

These are shoes I wear casually, sometimes for work but generally I wear these small heeled velvet Victorian shoes on the weekends. I found them at a Garage Sale (Yard Sale) and they used to belong to an elderly lady so they truly are Victorian and Old World. And they are very well made! They certainly don’t make shoes like these anymore!

A very easy way to dress up shoes is to tie some ribbon or fabric strip onto them. I added the lace bows on these shoes - I simply tied some fabric on to them and presto!

What do you like to do to jazz up your shoes?
