~* Butterfly Goth:: Outfit of the Day - Wedding Outfit *~

Here is a recent outfit of the day from when I attended a relative's wedding. It was a lovely, casual wedding ceremony in their backyard so I didn't want to dress up too much.

I wore one of my favourite, comfortable lace skirts with a fake corset top (the corset design is simply drawn on the singlet), lace cardigan with black roses etc.

I wore my floppy casual hat with a couple of decorations on it, with butterfly-themed accessories and my normal bracelets I usually wear.

Here is a close-up of the new fishnet stockings from Dangerfield and my suede black high-heels (a thrift find).

Close up of the accessories - fishnet hair ribbons I made myself, a colourful butterfly brooch, my fake tattoo choker I wear all the time, sparkly butterfly necklace etc.

And finally, my new lace gloves which I adore - also from Dangerfield.

~* Pregnant Goth Outfits *~

As you may have guessed, I've been struggling with the newborn baby bat so I've had zero free time to blog... So I thought I would show you some outfit photos from when I was pregnant as well as a post pregnancy picture (while I was still in hospital). I never got big in this pregnancy, and often people thought I was not pregnant at all. This was unfortunately due to my placenta and other medical issues. But I can assure you, I definitely was pregnant; and I now have a 3 and a half month old baby to prove it! :o)

One Month Pregnant -  Trip to Eltham Mini-Railway - I wore my black straw-like hat which I decorated with a handmade headband that my relative made; teamed with a lace cardigan, a Nightmare Before Christmas t-shirt, and a handmade fabric brooch!

4 Months Pregnant - I was off to a birthday party so I had to bring my new coffin purse with me! Also wearing a lace babydoll dress, leggings with jewels on the sides, and one of my new brooches that has a chain attached to it.

6 Months Pregnant - Family gathering for Mothers' Day! We went to a lovely chinese restaurant for lunch. I wore a skull in my favourite soft velvety hat, my rose tapestry skirt brooch, velvet short-sleeve cardigan, spiderweb top, chiffon-like skirt and my butterfly necklace again.

Post Pregnancy Outfit - pictured here in the waiting room of the hospital not long after my daughter's birth and my hospital stay. Dressed very casually here in my "We're all a little Mad" Alice in Wonderland t-shirt...

~* Cemetery Outfit *~

I'm slowly going through all my files, photos, folders and junk - I do apologize that these are all old outfits! Better late than never I suppose! So, anyway, here is a recent-ish outfit from November last year when I attended an event at our local cemetery.

In sewing class, I also converted another vintage dress into this skirt (and turned the top half into a cardigan which isn't pictured here). I love converting dresses into two items! It's my "thing". I really love the fabric of the skirt and it is soooooo comfy and flowy. The butterfly necklace was given to me for my birthday from a friend. The shirt was also a gift for my birthday and I love them both!

I wore my Velveteen hooded cardigan as it was a bit of a chilly day - but wore my normal everyday make-up...

You can see how happy I look in these photos because I had only just discovered that I was pregnant at this time! Oh how little did I know back then what an immense journey ahead I would encounter!

Today I finally organised and sorted through all my fabric, fabric scraps and clothes I want to convert into something else! I've got so much junk...

~* Quick Update and a couple of Outfits *~

Thanks for your patience everyone! I know it has been forever since I posted to the blog - due to my pregnancy and the baby-bat's birth etc - however there are a great deal of future entries that I've been working on! Stay tuned! I just need time to complete everything and at the moment my baby-bat is not allowing me to do anything, including sleep.

In the mean time, here are a few recent-ish outfits:

I wore this ensemble to a child's second birthday party last year (before I was pregnant of course). In sewing class, I converted a vintage mourning dress into a top and skirt (since I never really wear dresses, I knew I'd get more wear out of it if it was a top and skirt).

With my cardigan on, here is the end result:

And with my cardigan off - you can see the interesting sleeves:

The fabric was sort of cheese-clothy, I can't describe it, but it was really comfortable for the hot weather. I'm also wearing my adorable choker that was handmade by a lovely lady and I purchased it at the Black Market (alternative goth market) last year!

Also, just a couple of weeks ago, I treated myself to an afternoon of delightful thrift shopping (known as opp shopping in Australia) and unearthed splendid stuff: including black eye shadow, a Buffy top, a Mad Hatter top (pictured below), a Lolita style skirt (shown below), & cute gothy shoes for the babybat! Bliss!

You can see how I look post-pregnancy here - obviously I need to lose a fair bit of weight but I haven't been able to exercise for a few months. I hardly have time to even have a shower these days! The challenges of looking after a newborn and a toddler have been a lot more difficult than I thought! Here's hoping things will improve soon so I can function as a human again.

Also, be sure to "Like" my Facebook page where I post interesting, gothy things quite regularly! And please note my new link to Bloglovin!

~* Pregnant Goth - Recent Outfit of the Day *~

Wow, the time has just gone by so quickly this time around. I can't believe I'm already half-way through the pregnancy. I am 21 weeks in 2 days. I suppose because you are more busy with a toddler and working etc that you just don't notice the time going by so fast. With the first pregnancy, it seemed like it took forever. This time it feels like the time is slipping through my fingers.

Anyway, here are a couple of pregnant goth photos of me from when we went to the beach with my daughter recently - they are from when I was around 13 weeks I think (can't quite remember).

As you can see I'm dressed in very casual goth attire since these days I just don't have the energy to get really dressed up. Also, we were at the beach, so you don't want to be wearing heaps of stuff.
The tent is my brother-in-law's and it was great for me as it kept me protected from the mighty orb.

Of course, the hat and sunglasses are on when I venture out of the tent. I also had a parasol with me somewhere. Yes, I am not a huge fan of the beach. But one must tolerate it if one has a toddler etc. I must admit it was fun to see my daughter frolick in the water, to play with her in the sand and see how happy she was!

Here I am also wearing my comfy skull cardigan (another recent thrift find)!

~* Festive Season Silliness *~

It's been a crazy and busy holiday season so far for us! We are currently renovating the new house we moved into - it is being painted as I type - the exterior and interior - plus lots of other decorating... But more about that in a future post.

The day after my last day at work we took my in-laws and my parents out to dinner to thank them for looking after our daughter so I could go back to work part time! We went to a lovely chinese restaurant and we shouted them all their meals! This is the casual outfit I wore:

As you can see I'm wearing my Tru-Blood t-shirt which I adore!

I also got to go to playgroup with my daughter for the first time (normally I'm at work and my Mum takes her there). That was a fun day. Then at night we went out for dinner with all the ladies at playgroup - it was a lovely evening out.

Here are some outfit photos from The Husband's and his Dad's birthday celebrations (their birthdays are both a couple of days apart so we celebrate them together). We had a BBQ at my mother-in-law's place!

Here you can see I'm wearing my new coffin backpack - I adore it so much! I'm also wearing my new corset-style top with my new sheer blouse (both birthday presents from my sewing friend). It's hot weather here nowadays (Summer)  so I wore my lightweight, sheer long skirt to be more comfortable! I'm also wearing my Emily the Strange skirt brooch that I made myself, and my Summer hat with a handmade headband decorating it.

The next day we went to the beach with my daughter for the very first time. She went in the water, collected shells and made sandcastles and had the best time ever! It was lovely! Then we went afterwards for icecream and drinks. I'm really enjoying this family time!

It was our anniversary of six years of marriage recently - wow - I cannot believe how quickly time flies! We have actually known each other for over 9 years but we've been married for 6. We went to a lovely mexican restaurant for dinner in Chapel Street and then to a cafe for coffee and cake and it was the same cafe we went to on our first date, so it was an enchanting evening and very romantic!

On Christmas Day we went to my Mum's BBQ with some family friends which was fun and the food was delicious! I also watched Nightmare Before Christmas with my daughter - we watch it every year on Christmas Day - our little tradition.

Happy Holidays to you all! More outfit photos to come (I just need to find the time to sort and crop them)!

~* Birthday Merriment, Frankenweenie and Quick Update *~

Sorry as usual for the lack of regular posts, we have been so busy lately (which is to be expected at this time of year I suppose)...

♥ Birthday Merriment ♥:
I honestly can't believe I'm another year older! Where did the year vanish to?
It was my 32nd birthday (I feel so old!!) and I had many merry moments because it was a lovely, long, *birthday* weekend (I didn’t have to go back to work until Thursday of the following week).

Off to see Frankenweenie to celebrate my 32nd Birthday

To celebrate, we went out for delicious dinner three times; plus several afternoon teas with the family; fun and games at Eleni's 2nd birthday party; a date night to see Frankenweenie (I adored it, especially the character development, voices, animation & the fact it was in black & white -- 8.5/10);

...as well as shopping adventures for gorgeous birthday presents (a cute coffin backpack with PVC bat and a splendid Spin Doctor Victorian skirt ♥) at Victorian Gothic shop in Brunswick St.

Birthday gift 1: This is the gorgeous Spin Doctor Victorian style skirt (from Victorian Gothic)

Birthday Gift #2: This is the PVC Coffin Bat Backpack (from Victorian Gothic)

I can't wait to wear and use my gifts! So excited! Also, a huge thanks to my splendid sewing friends for throwing me a delightful post-birthday soirée in class the other day!

In other news, I have only one assignment left to do and then I will have completed my course - Yay! Nearly there...

Here is what I wore to see Frankenweenie (sorry for the bad photo quality):

My standard Vintage black hat, blouse and skirt with cameo necklace.

Also a pic without my hat on!

~* Gothic Lolita Style - Recent Outfit of the Day*~

I apologise once again for the lack of posts, it was my birthday recently as well as a long weekend where I live (and also Halloween) so I have been super busy.

Here is a recent outfit I wore to a One-year-old birthday party. It is sort of Gothic Lolita inspired and I am wearing my lovely Retroscope Fashions skirt that I found and purchased at the amazing Black Market (alternative market) back in July this year!

I wore my black and white skull socks, high-heeled boots with skull laces, skully-dog badge, fishnet fingerless gloves, my gothic lolita black and cream coloured top, skull lady cameo necklace, tattoo choker, Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas badge, skull shoelaces in my hair, and my floppy hat again (decorated with heart and skull hair clips).

It was a cold day so I got to wear my vintage seond hand military jacket and my skull scarf! This jacket had a button missing so I just put a badge over it instead. It's one of those "Goth and Proud" pins which I think makes the jacket look better! I also wore a cameo ring and various other accessories (I personally don't believe in the "Less is More" philosophy - if it's done right I think More is good)! <3

Do you believe "Less is More" when it comes to fashion and outfits?
